Week 7 MLB Power Rankings

Posted by on May 25, 2010 in Baseball News, Baseball Power Rankings | 0 comments

Fantasy Baseball Dugout is proud to have one of the six voting spots in Yardbarker’s Blogger Poll for MLB Power Rankings 2010. In addition to providing our insight on ranking each MLB team 1-30, we also monitor the AL West NL East (props to Lady Loves Pinstripes for taking over the AL West beat) each week and drop a little insight on each team. See below for our rankings for MLB Week 7. Since it is our responsibility to provide analysis of each AL West NL East team, I’ve sprinkled that throughout the post below, too. De Rays and Da Yanks have been neck-in-neck for weeks as the league’s best team, but the Phillies have moved into the top two this week as the Yanks have gone 4-6 in their last 10. The Diamondbacks and Braves are the biggest...

In addition to providing our insight on ranking each MLB team 1-30, we also monitor the AL West each week and drop a little insight on each team. See below for our rankings for MLB Week 6. Since it is our responsibility to provide analysis of each AL West team, I’ve sprinkled that throughout the post below, too. Since the last time we published the rankings here on FBD (MLB Week 1), several things have changed – but the top is still very similar. De Rays and Da Yanks have been neck-in-neck for weeks as the league’s best team, and the Phillies are right behind them to round out the top three. Below, in ( ), you...

Posted by on Apr 4, 2010 in Baseball News, Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Fantasy Baseball Tips | 0 comments

Tomorrow – officially – is Opening Day (even though ESPN likes to get the party started one night early). Opening Day is still one of our favorite days of the year at Fantasy Baseball Dugout. Something about baseball being played nationwide for the first time each April is thrilling. Maybe its one of the sure tell signs of spring, maybe its the famous people throwing out first pitches, maybe its the fact that there is meaningful afternoon baseball on a Monday. Whatever it is – the homies at Fantasy Baseball Dugout love Opening Day. Since every baseball blogger is going to be throwing out MLB predictions over the next 48 hours, we figured now is the best time to throw out our 2010 regular season predictions, too. When we look back over our track record in making these MLB...

A few days ago, we analyzed the 2010 fantasy baseball pitcher sleepers to watch in 2010.  Today, we take a look at the more important side of the equation–fantasy baseball hitters sleepers. Unless you like to mortgage the present for the future, or play in a deep keeper league,  most of us don’t want to pick sleepers who won’t be up in the majors until September.  Hence, the players you see in all italics below will be definites for starting the 2010 fantasy baseball season in the majors and with starting roles.  Keep your eyes on these guys as your 2010 fantasy baseball draft comes closer to see if they are going to stick in the bigs to start the season. Austin Jackson, Tigers , OF — Jackson will get a chance to show his stuff early as a...

The Best Of Fantasy Baseball Dugout 2009

Posted by on Dec 31, 2009 in Baseball News | 1 comment

What a year 2009 was for Fantasy Baseball Dugout. We want to thank all of our readers for making this year so memorable for us. We also highly appreciate your attention this year. Just like 2008, we learned a lot about the game of fantasy baseball right along with our readers. We crushed on young aces like David Price, Stephen Strasburg and Jordan Zimmermann… and none of them loved us back nearly as much. We were wrong when we told you to get rid of Zack Greinke and we undervalued Derek Jeter all season. That said, we were right on the money all season when we told to trust your inner Pujols. In total, almost 90,000 hits came into the Dugout for our 2009 Preseason Rankings. Plus, over 50,000 people chose FBD.com as their destination for fantasy baseball sleeper...
