Fantasy Baseball Dugout is proud to have one of the six voting spots in Yardbarker’s Blogger Poll for MLB Power Rankings 2010. In addition to providing our insight on ranking each MLB team 1-30, we also monitor the NL East each week and drop a little insight on each team. See below for our rankings for MLB Week 9. The Phillies continue their descent down the rankings as they continue to lack any power in the lineup. De Rays remain at no. 1, Da Yanks stay at no. 2, and the Duh Twins are again no. 3. The biggest movers of the week are the Braves (up 7) and the Angels (up 8 spots) as each team has gone on impressive win streaks over their last 10 games. Week 10 Two Start Pitchers

Posted by on Jun 5, 2010 in Fantasy Baseball Starting Pitchers | 0 comments

Are you two-start pitcher streaming? If not, you’re likely missing out on a great opportunity to increase your weekly strikeout total, win total, log more innings pitched, and potentially lower your team ERA and WHIP in head to head leagues that allow daily lineup changes. Some leagues don’t allow such activity by limiting the number of player adds you can make each week. However, if you can find a loophole in your league settings and add/drop pitchers all season long – you’re going to have a great chance to win the whole thing come September! For the third consecutive season, we will be tracking two start pitchers to make sure you always win your pitching categories. That way, if Tim Lincecum continues to need to work on his mechanics deep into the month of July – you’re not screwed....

Which Perfect Game Was MORE Perfect?

Posted by on Jun 2, 2010 in Baseball News | 0 comments

May was a historic month in Major League Baseball. There have now been 20 perfect games in MLB history, and on May 1… there were only 18. Props go to both A’s hurler Dallas Braden and Phillies ace Roy Halladay for their incredible performances. Only one other time in MLB history have two perfect games happened within the same thirty day period… and they were logged FIVE DAYS apart – in 1880. Props should also be thrown out to Worcester’s Lee Richmond and Providence’s Monte Ward for their exceptional pitching prowess in those games, too. Historically speaking, May is the best month to throw a perfect game. Of the 20 that have been thrown, seven have occurred in the month. Recent perfect games by Randy Johnson (2004) and David Wells (1998) both happened in May, and who could forget...

Week 8 MLB Power Rankings

Posted by on Jun 1, 2010 in Baseball News, Baseball Power Rankings | 0 comments

Fantasy Baseball Dugout is proud to have one of the six voting spots in Yardbarker’s Blogger Poll for MLB Power Rankings 2010. In addition to providing our insight on ranking each MLB team 1-30, we also monitor the NL East each week and drop a little insight on each team. See below for our rankings for MLB Week 8. Since it is our responsibility to provide analysis of each NL East team, I’ve sprinkled that throughout the post below, too. So, after moving the Phillies into the top 2 last week, they promptly forgot how to score runs for an entire 7-day stretch and plummeted in this week’s rankings – down five spots to no. 7. Therefore, De Rays and Da Yanks are back in the top 2 spots, and the Twins have entered the top 3. Otherwise, there...
