Week 7 MLB Power Rankings

Posted by on May 25, 2010 in Baseball News, Baseball Power Rankings | 0 comments

Fantasy Baseball Dugout is proud to have one of the six voting spots in Yardbarker’s Blogger Poll for MLB Power Rankings 2010. In addition to providing our insight on ranking each MLB team 1-30, we also monitor the AL West NL East (props to Lady Loves Pinstripes for taking over the AL West beat) each week and drop a little insight on each team. See below for our rankings for MLB Week 7. Since it is our responsibility to provide analysis of each AL West NL East team, I’ve sprinkled that throughout the post below, too. De Rays and Da Yanks have been neck-in-neck for weeks as the league’s best team, but the Phillies have moved into the top two this week as the Yanks have gone 4-6 in their last 10. The Diamondbacks and Braves are the biggest...

In addition to providing our insight on ranking each MLB team 1-30, we also monitor the AL West each week and drop a little insight on each team. See below for our rankings for MLB Week 6. Since it is our responsibility to provide analysis of each AL West team, I’ve sprinkled that throughout the post below, too. Since the last time we published the rankings here on FBD (MLB Week 1), several things have changed – but the top is still very similar. De Rays and Da Yanks have been neck-in-neck for weeks as the league’s best team, and the Phillies are right behind them to round out the top three. Below, in ( ), you...

Christie Brinkley: Baseball Fan

Posted by on Apr 30, 2010 in Hottest Baseball Wives | 0 comments

To the best of our knowledge, supermodel Christie Brinkley has never been one of Baseball’s Hottest Wives.  To the best of our knowledge, Christie Brinkley has never dated Derek Jeter. That being said, we found a picture of Christie in a Red Sox jersey and thought that justified her inclusion on FBD.  Heck, who’s kidding, even if we didn’t find the Red Sox picture, she could be in FBD. In addition to being drop dead gorgeous, Christie Brinkley is also a terrific photographer.  Pinnacle baseball cards asked Christie to photograph the 1996 Baseball World Series championship teams–the Indians and Braves–for her own “Christie Brinkley Collection” of baseball trading cards. She is said to be the only photographer to get Albert Bell to crack a smile.  She’d certainly make us smile. Christie was recently voted as the sexiest 50+ woman...

2010 MLB Predictions (And Some Fantasy Baseball)

Posted by on Apr 4, 2010 in Baseball News, Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Fantasy Baseball Tips | 0 comments

Tomorrow – officially – is Opening Day (even though ESPN likes to get the party started one night early). Opening Day is still one of our favorite days of the year at Fantasy Baseball Dugout. Something about baseball being played nationwide for the first time each April is thrilling. Maybe its one of the sure tell signs of spring, maybe its the famous people throwing out first pitches, maybe its the fact that there is meaningful afternoon baseball on a Monday. Whatever it is – the homies at Fantasy Baseball Dugout love Opening Day. Since every baseball blogger is going to be throwing out MLB predictions over the next 48 hours, we figured now is the best time to throw out our 2010 regular season predictions, too. When we look back over our track record in making these MLB...

Budgeting for Fantasy Baseball Auction Drafts

Posted by on Mar 19, 2010 in Fantasy Baseball Catchers, Fantasy Baseball Draft, Fantasy Baseball Tips | 0 comments

Editor’s Note: This article is written by Todd Lammi. Todd’s been playing fantasy baseball for 20 years. He has won numerous auction and draft leagues in multiple formats. The latest craze in fantasy baseball is the 15 team mixed auction draft. This combines players from both the American League and the Nation League into one player pool. It seems like 15 team leagues are gaining in popularity due to the outbreak of high stakes fantasy baseball leagues that are emerging thanks to the continued growth of the sport. One thing to keep to remember when viewing auction dollar values in a magazine is what is the league size that is being used. Some magazines will use 12 teams, some use 152, while others only post dollar values for a AL or NL only format. You have to be sure...
