Our guest writer today is Chris McBrien.  Chris McBrien is a baseball writer for numerous baseball websites and may be found at Dear Mr. Fantasy and can be followed on Twitter @cmcbrien In any fantasy baseball keeper league, there are always the obvious choices in regard to which baseball players you will hold onto heading into next season. Everyone knows that players such as Albert Pujols, Ryan Braun and Matt Kemp are no-brainers when it comes to deciding which players to keep and which to throw back into the draft. However, there are always examples of no-brainer keeper players which turn out to be busts. Just ask fantasy owners of Adam Dunn, Joe Mauer, Alex Rios and Carl Crawford how things worked out for their sure-fire keepers in 2011. As the 2011 season starts to wear down, it may...

A First Look at 2012 Fantasy Baseball Sleepers

A fantasy baseball sleeper can be defined in a number of different ways. What it really comes down to is the ability to draft a player at a lower position than they should be positioned. In other words, a fantasy baseball sleeper is any player who will perform significantly better than other players drafted in or around the same round. So, how does a player slip past the other fantasy baseball owners on draft day? September is no time to stop pushing in your fantasy baseball league.  In fact, with a wealth of new players hitting the Big Leagues when rosters expand to 40, there will be some talent available to help you out. Here’s a look at a few that we think will have the biggest impact in the 2011 stretch run. Jesus Montero, Catcher, New York Yankees — Jesus Montero is hitting .290/18/67 at Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre.  He’s been sizzling lately with 5 homeruns in his last 7 games.  Montero, 21, was expected to compete with Francisco Cervelli for the Yankees starting catcher job in Spring Training, but then the Yanks acquired Russell Martin instead.  Expect Montero to get some action as the DH as the Yankees try to see if he has a better bat for post-season than Jorge Posada.  In...
