Lisa Dergan’s Husband Re-Signs With White Sox
From Fantasy Baseball Dugout’s desk devoted to Baseball’s Hottest Wives, Lisa Dergan’s base stealing husband has signed a minor-league deal with the Chicago White Sox.
Podsednik played for the White Sox from 2005 – 2008 and hit a memorable homerun in Game 2 of the 2005 World Series off a pre-Philadelphia Phillies Brad Lidge. Pods is the only player in postseason history to hit a homerun when without hitting one out in over 500 at-bats in the regular season.
Last season, Podsednik batted .253 with 1 homerun, 15 RBI, 22 runs, and 12 steals in 93 games for the Colorado Rockies. In 2005 and 2006, he stole a combined 93 bases for the White Sox, so Pods would likely carry some fantasy value in deep mixed leagues and AL-only leagues if he becomes the team’s starting center fielder.
One could argue that Lisa had a better 2008 baseball season than Scott, however. She finished top runner up to Heidi DeRosa in our inaugural vote for Baseball’s Hottest Wife.
The 2009 vote for Baseball’s Hottest Wife returns this summer. Be sure to check back to see when the voting begins.
