Angels Mourn Loss
Los Angeles Angels’ pitcher Nick Adenhart died today after injuries suffered in a three car hit and run accident in Fullerton, California last night.
Adenhart had just pitched six scoreless innings in the Angels’ 6-4 loss to Oakland. The 22-year-old from Maryland had earned a starting rotation spot in the Angels’ staff after a rash of injuries that put John Lackey, Kelvim Escobar, and Ervin Santana on the shelf for the opening of the season. Last year, Adenhart made three starts in May and was 1-0 with a disappointing 9.00 ERA with 13 walks and 4 strikeouts before being sent back to Triple-A Salt Lake City.
The staff at Fantasy Baseball Dugout expresses its sincerest and deepest sympathy to the Adenhart family and the families of the two others who perished in the tragic accident.
The Angels’ final game of its series with Oakland tonight has been postponed.
