2009 Preseason Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Closers
The final part of our 2009 preseason fantasy baseball rankings by position is now available: check out our 2009 fantasy baseball closer rankings.
Mariano Rivera, the New York Yankees one-pitch wonder, takes the top of preseason rankings after being the no. 1 closer in standard 5×5 leagues in 2008. As long as this guy has been productive with only one pitch, there’s no reason to have him ranked anywhere but no. 1 on the fantasy baseball closer throne heading into 2009.
Rivera finished the year 6-5 with a 1.40 ERA, 77 strikeouts and a 0.67 WHIP in 70.7 innings of work.
