MLB.com Fantasy Baseball Open Draft

Jimmy Rollins was my first, first round pick of 2008.BatBoy BeeZee was invited to join a league with a friend from the Fantasy Baseball Dugout group on SI.com’s FanNation. The league was run through the MLB.com Fantasy Baseball Open.

MLB fantasy baseball open is an interesting game for this season. Look for a post about it to be coming in the next few days.

Anyway, the league is a 12-team head-to-head. I drafted 7th in the snake draft-format, and selected my main man Jimmy Rollins despite having Hanley Ramirez on the board.

Besides the catcher and 2B positions, two spots I obviously sacrificed, my draft doesn’t look that bad. My outfield depth should lead to some promising returns at those positions throughout the season.

Keep in mind that MLB Fantasy Baseball Open doesn’t have spots for individual pitchers. Similar to drafting a defense/special teams in fantasy football, your pitching staff is a full teams staff in this league format.
